At long last, what began as a sequel to Empty Seats is now available!

Called Still Doing Time, it’s the story of Jimmy Bailey, who first appeared in Empty Seats, as he began his quest to make it in Major League Baseball, only to find himself in a maximum-security prison for a crime he didn’t commit.

Four years later, on the day his sister, Debbie, picks him up from the prison, he smells freedom at last. Knowing that his life will be difficult, especially in terms of finding.a job as a convicted felon, he’s anxious about returning to the real world. But he has a letter from Tom Yawkey, the owner of The Boston Red Sox, promising him a job of some sort at Fenway Park. In that correspondence, Yawkey tells Jimmy to contact him when he’s out of prison.

On their way out of the prison, one of the guards tries to harass his sister, Debbie. She shuts him down, embarrassing him in front of several other guards. This incident leads to both Jimmy and Debbie having to deal with stalking, strange incidents, even kidnapping, and other unusual happenings in their lives. What might have been an easy transition from incarceration to the free world turns into something very different from what they’d both predicted. Their lives change from that day forward.

Yes, this book contains baseball references, but there’s so much more. I hope you will check out this novel and tell your friends. Of course you can buy it on Amazon, but you can also buy it directly from me or from www.bookshop.org. Authors receive a better return when you buy from them or from bookshop.org. The eBook is only available from Amazon.

AND–for those in New York’s Capital District: I will be doing a book signing at THE OPEN DOOR BOOKSTORE on Jay Street in Schenectady on November 10, 2024, at 2 pm. Hope to see you there.
